Helena voters will be asked to vote for TWO items related to Public Safety.
The Mill Levy will hire 15 Firefighters and 9 Police Officers.
The Mill Levy is estimated to cost a Helena home approximately $10/mo.
(A home valued at $300,000 would be taxed an additional $10.69 per month)
- National Standards (NFPA) requires 15 firefighters to respond to an incident. Currently we have 8 on duty each day.
- As violent crimes increase, We need more officers to Keep Helena a Safe Community.
The Bond will build a 3rd Fire Station
The Bond is estimated to cost a Helena home approximately $2/mo.
(A home valued at $300,000 would be taxed an additional $1.91 per month)
- The last station was built in 1978 when the dept. ran 600 calls per year.
- Firefighters ran 4,908 calls last Year!
